Starting as a nursing assistant  I learned the value of personalized care when providing physical care. As an activities professional I share a passion for creating opportunities for quality of life. Through years of physical and psycho-social care, I have spent many hours at the side of dying individuals. I have apply my passion and my commitment to improving quality of life even at end-of-life care. I was one of the first graduates of the Master’s of Thanatology program at Hood College. Holistic care is my commitment; conducting and translating research that enhances it is my mission. In 2012 I received my doctorate in Aging Studies from University of South Florida. Giving care is a partnership with a care dance where the lead is shared and each dancer valued equally. With my experience and education I am committed to positive aging regardless of cognitive change. That commitment includes national caregiver support groups and workshops, professional and family caregiver training and one-on-one individual and family coaching.
