Catherine McCarty, PhD, ADC
I am a dementia coach whose clinical experience includes over 35 years of creating quality of life for individual with dementia. Starting as a nursing assistant I learned the value of personalized care when providing physical care. As an activities professional I have a passion for creating opportunities for quality of life. Through years of nursing and activities care, I have spent many hours at the side of dying individuals. I have taken my passion and my commitment to improving life to include end-of-life care. I was one of the first graduates of the Master’s of Thanatology program at Hood College. Holistic care is my commitment; conducting and translating research that enhances it is my mission. In 2012 I received my doctorate in Aging Studies from University of South Florida.
